Created in God’s Image: What It Means to Be Truly Human

We live in a unique moment in time. Our increasingly secularized culture often seems incompatible with the ancient teachings of the Scriptures. Many values in the Bible seem outdated, false, and even irrelevant to our friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Consequently, this has dramatic implications for how we view ourselves and others. In this series, we will focus on constructing a proper theological anthropology. Put another way: what does the Bible say about what it means to be truly human? Further, how do we understand, defend, and display what it means to be God’s image bearers in the midst of a dehumanizing society?

Nursery is available for children 0-4 for participants of the class only.

APRIL 14th - MAY 9th

Next class begins april 14th!

This is a class to learn about what Redeemer believes as well as what membership entails (without any obligation). We want you to know where we're coming from, but we also spend lots of time hearing your questions and discussing together what's "new to you" about our church. It's six weeks to ask questions, hear about why Redeemer does what she does, and how you can be a part of it.

Questions? Ask Matt msiple@redeemerathens.com

K5 - 5th GRADERS

UPPER WAREHOUSE Classrooms

During Sunday School, K5-5th graders will be continuing through Old Testament stories from our school-year curriculum. As we look at the Israelite's "captivity to restoration", we hope to help kids see the big picture of God's story and how the whole Bible points to Jesus Christ.

The K5-5th grade Sunday School classes will meet in the Upper Warehouse classrooms

Questions? Jill Brannen at jbrannen@redeemerathens.com.

3 + 4 YEAR OLDS

Outer nursery classrooms

Nursery children ages three and four enjoy a Sunday school lesson, too!

Three-year-olds will learn about God’s family, that God created everything and everyone and He began his own family - the family of faith. This quarter covers the book of Genesis, including: Creation, Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, Esau and Jacob, and Joseph. The lessons show how all of these people were a part of God’s plan of salvation.

Four-year-olds will be learning about the life of Jesus. Preschoolers learn that although Jesus was born as a tiny baby, he would grow up to save God’s people from their sins.
